Accessibility Statement
Our commitment
We want Goad to be usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology. We measure the app against WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the standard referenced by the EU Accessibility Act. Goad does not fully meet that standard yet. This page says plainly what works, what does not, and how to reach us if something gets in your way.
If you find anything that doesn't meet that bar — or any rough edge that makes the app harder to use with VoiceOver, Switch Control, Voice Control, or any other assistive technology — please email goadplan@xymex.app. We respond within 5 business days.
What's supported
“Supported, with gaps” means the feature works in most of the app, and the exceptions are listed under Known gaps.
Vision

Hearing
The app has no audio or video content. Reminder notifications always show their message as text, so the reminder sounds are an extra cue, never the only one. You can turn reminder sounds off in iOS Settings → Notifications → Goad plan, and silent mode and Focus apply as usual.
Known gaps
These are the parts of the app that do not yet meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA, plus a few smaller issues. The related WCAG success criterion is given in brackets.
VoiceOver
- Short-lived messages are not read aloud. After you complete or delete a task, an Undo message appears for 4 seconds. The tip banner that offers the feature guide disappears after 6 seconds. VoiceOver does not announce either one, and neither can be kept on screen longer. The feature guide is always available from Settings. (WCAG 4.1.3, 2.2.1)
- The Undo message is a single VoiceOver item. Its text, its Undo button and its close button are grouped together instead of being separate buttons. (WCAG 4.1.2)
- Some tappable items are not identified as buttons. About 30 places respond to a tap but are not marked as buttons, including task rows on Today (which open the task), entries in Calendar and in the day timeline, and the tag list. (WCAG 4.1.2)
- Priority in the day timeline is shown only as a small coloured dot, and is not read out. (WCAG 1.3.1, 1.4.1)
- Calendar week view in other languages. The spoken description of each day includes the English words “Today”, “tasks” and “Selected”, even when the app is set to another language.
Colour and contrast
Measured with the WCAG contrast formula from the app's colour values. Level AA asks for at least 4.5:1 for normal text, and 3:1 for large text and meaningful icons.
- Orange warning text in light appearance measures about 3.4:1. Examples: the due time of an overdue task on Today, the “Paused” streak label, and error messages in the evening shutdown. (WCAG 1.4.3)
- Green confirmation text in light appearance, such as “Pro restored. Welcome back.”, measures about 4.2:1. (WCAG 1.4.3)
- The streak count on recurring tasks (orange on a pale orange badge) measures about 2.9:1 in light appearance. (WCAG 1.4.3)
- The Undo button on the Undo message measures about 2.9:1 in light appearance, and about 1.9:1 with Increase Contrast on. (WCAG 1.4.3)
- White text and icons on the bright teal accent in dark appearance measure about 1.6:1. This affects the round + buttons that add a task on Today and in Calendar, the “Close” and “Sleep well” buttons in the evening shutdown, the “OK” button on the screen shown after you delete a task you kept putting off, and the selected days in the repeat-days picker. (WCAG 1.4.3, 1.4.11)
- The orange, green and red status colours have no stronger version when Increase Contrast is on.
- Reminder escalation is shown by colour alone. How far a task's reminders have escalated is shown only by the colour of its checkbox outline. The word “Overdue” itself is shown as text. (WCAG 1.4.1)
Larger text
- Some text is cut short instead of wrapping. Task titles in the morning planner, and the due-time line under each task on Today, are limited to one line and end in “…” at large sizes. (WCAG 1.4.4)
- Task titles in the evening shutdown are limited to two lines and may shrink slightly instead of wrapping further. (WCAG 1.4.4)
- Welcome screens. The cards shown on first launch do not scroll, so at the largest text sizes some of their text may be cut off. (WCAG 1.4.4)
- Fixed-size icons. Some icons, such as the round + button and the × on the Undo message, keep a fixed size and do not offer the Large Content Viewer.
Voice Control
- Some spoken names differ from the visible text. The purchase button shows “Unlock for [price]” but is named “Purchase Goad Pro”. The planner's “Plan it” button is named “Plan today's tasks”. The keyboard's “Done” button is named “Dismiss keyboard”. Saying the visible text may not activate these buttons; say “Show names” or “Show numbers” instead. (WCAG 2.5.3)
Other limitations
- Live Activity countdown — VoiceOver re-reads the reminder countdown in the Live Activity each time you move to it, which can feel chatty. This is how iOS handles live timers, and we cannot change it.

How this statement was prepared
This is a self-assessment, made on 4 October 2026 by reviewing the app's source code against WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Contrast figures were calculated from the app's colour values with the WCAG formula. Automated tests check the contrast of the main text, accent and escalation colours; the orange, green and red status colours are not yet covered by those tests.
Not every gap above has been re-checked on a device with the assistive technology involved, so a few may behave slightly differently in practice. We will update this page as gaps are fixed or re-tested.
Conformance claim
Goad plan is partially conformant with EN 301 549 / WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the app do not yet fully meet the standard; those parts are listed under Known gaps.
We are working to resolve them in upcoming releases, and will update this page as each one is fixed.
